Like as if I Care

I just came home and I am eager to record down my experience with a cabby from SMRT. It's so irritating but at the same time funny. SO this is what happened......

I believe many of you would have heard from the news that they are removing the disel surcharge this month. So on board one of the SMRT cab, I'm curious about when are they removing the surcharge.
Alright!!! Rule No 1: Never strike such conversation with taxi uncle... or they won't stop their nagging.

So that uncle say .... "12 of November". That's all I need to know right ??! But this uncle just kept on talking none stop from there on. He started to tell me that nowadays they receive the news via from smses... it is very convenient for them to know the latest update through smses. And guess what, He started to take out his HP and wanted me to read his sms regarding the changes. LIKE AS IF I CARE!! so i told him politely "不用啦，uncle... thank you".... I don't know why he kept attempting me to see his HP for what??? Taxi Uncle speaking in Mandarin, "aiya...你拿去看啦，不要紧的啦。Soooo... I also keep insisting that I am not interested to read either. Hiaz... alamak.. why force me to read!!

Fine, that's not all.... So he started his one way conversation about his unhappiness with the Government policies. Rule No 2: If possible, talk on the phone with your friends to prevent taxi uncle from blasting your ear with their unhappiness with the PAP. Many taxi driver are quite Anti-PAP. I don't know why?!

Anyway, this uncle started to complain about the $0.30 surcharge. He says that the surcharge had only been enforce 6 MONTHS after the oil prices increases... they have struggled for 6 months before the surcharge was implemented. Now, the oil price had only drop for 2 months, and the govt are asking them to remove this $0.30 surcharge. This is what he says "你知道吗。。。这样算来，我们还亏本4个月 leh" OMG.... uncle, your mentality is very small right, my heart was thinking. But I kept quiet....

By keeping quiet, I hope that uncle would know that I am disinterested to listen anymore.. but obviously he don't care!! He never pondered why I never reply him or so... HE KEPT ON TALKING..... Then, he started to make some stupid comparison... he said that "look at the coffee shop... why didn't the govt make them reduce the price of the coffee since the price of sugar drop recently too?? why didn't chicken rice becomes cheaper even though price of rice also drop. Why must it be on taxi???" This taxi uncle is really feeling so victimise by it. He continued saying that "Govt should publicise the need to reduce coffee prices, then it's fair for them. Coffee use to be $0.80 and now is $1..... why didn't they reduce the price...."

IS AS IF I CARE!! Hello uncle... I dun even drink coffee and eat chicken rice everyday??? It's none of my business. $0.10 , $0.20, $0.30 make no difference to me. SO irritating... he continue his complain.. govt is controlling, govt is this and govt is that... and blah blah blah like LAO SAI like that.

What I can't stand the most is this!!! He ask me to help the taxi drivers in singapore by writing to internet forum. SIAO AH.... this is like those who like to criticise the govt on the internet forum and have no guts to leave their name and contact number?? I really can't stand him anymore. I decided to says something before I alight.

This is what I replied him.... Uncle，为什没我要帮你，都不关我的事。。。不然我教你啦。你去 HONG LIM PARK 的 SPEAKERS' CORNER 啦， then 你 rally all the SMRT the taxi uncle 还有ah peh，教他们support 你lor. Then 你大大声的骂政府啦， then 还有很多记者lor，新闻一定会报的 lor. Hong Lim Park 讲话没有反法的lor

I think the uncle was a little dumb founded when I said that... so he kept saying he can't do it, he will lose his job if he does so... hahaha isn't this so contradicting... Why people have the guts to keep complaining to the wrong channels and never have the guts to tell the person directly.

OMG... this is really a Palia post.... please pardon me... I just want to find a channel to release as well. lol.
