Pregnancy Progress at Week 21- It's A Girl!!!

It was confirmed, double confirmed after the detailed scan on last Thurs...... Princess Thong is coming to town. All is well. Baby Thong is growing in leaps and bounds.

I'm so looking forward for every ultrasound scan. Seeing her movement and hearing her heart beat simply warms our hearts. Life is just so amazing. Mummy can't wait to see you in 4 months time.

Starting to feel some small movements of Baby Thong. I hope it's not because I am hungry for food cos the feeling is a little similar. My gynae, Dr Lim assured me that what I am feeling was baby movements. I should feel more movement in 2 weeks time.

Price to pay : serious backache / frequent leg cramps

Seldom experience any leg cramp previously. But ever since few weeks ago, Bad leg cramps will strikes in the middle of the night, causing lots of disturbance to my dear Derrick. But I want to give him some compliments as he was really all prepared for whatever "patterns" I throw to him.

Whenever I screamed(softly) for help in the middle of the night like 4am, Derrick will jump up from the bed to attend to me IMMEDIATELY. Yes!!! It's immediately. Like as if , he was not sleeping all the while. I am really moved by him cos knowing that he is never a light sleeper, it will take ultra long time to react when he is deep into sleep.

Kudos to the Daddy to be!!

2011 is a Year of

1) Many Weddingsss.......

你的"kang tao"很多hor!!!.... That's what my mother always nagged about when I tell her I've wedding dinners and I can't be home for dinner again.

As I was collating those photos. I was pleasantly shocked that I have attended 14 wedding dinners/holy matrimony in a year. I know you might have more than that. Seem like the year of Rabbit is a good year of tying a knot. I'm really happy for those who are starting this brand new exciting journey with their love ones.

It was also Derrick's debut to coordinate 2 weddings in a year for Mayce/Victor & Daniel/Peiling.

2) Career Breakthrough

"Make hay while the sun shines!!" That's what my Relationship Manager, Timo always tell me. This kinda a revelation for me.lol....coming from the mouth of a "joker" in my office.

If change is the only constant thing in life. This would be so applicable to the banking industries I am working in. But still, I am extremely thankful to God for allowing me to taste His goodness in the area of financial increase. Though I am not the most aggressive, not the most knowledgeable and neither the top of the top in the bank, but I constantly experience God's grace and favor upon my life. This year itself, I have 2 pay increments and also more than 200% increase in my annual salary compare to 2010. I know deep down in my heart this can only happen because of His grace and mercy.

Come next year, I am really apprehensive how my career in DBS will progress. Given that I am pregnant now and I'm going away for maternity leave for 4 good months. Nevertheless, I will just trust the Lord again, try my best not to complain too much and believe for a good harvest in 2012. *** Stay positive***

3) Heartbreaks

Not really a year of heartbreaks. But early this year, I did experience one of the most heartbreaking moment of my life. Miscarriage/Mis-abortion...... =(

Thinking about it again brings tears to my eyes. It's a hard truth to digest and accept. I remember crying for days. Sleeping with tears for nights. Praying really hard for miracle to happen. Month of May had been my longest and toughest months of all.

During one of my phone counseling session with Pastor Aries, he asked if I am angry with God? My immediate respond was "Why would I be angry with Him? If I am not a believer, thing like this could happen as well." Felt ministered by my own answer.

Thank God for good friends around me who not only pray but fasted for me. Thanks for all your love and encouragement. =)

4) Getting Pregnant again

I never thought getting pregnant again will be easy. 3 months after the fateful incident , I found myself pregnant again. That what we always confessed "God will turn my mourning into dancing."

Today marks my 19 weeks of pregnancy. Baby gender remains a mystery and I am so eager to find out the answer after my detailed scan schedule 2 weeks later.

I am so excited to see how Baby Thong look like. Excited to feel his/her first kick. Excited to start a family with Derrick. Excited about motherhood. What kind of mother will I become? Crossed my finger and pray that I will be who God wants me to be.

5) Building a Love Nest

"Woah".... Coupled with preganacy, we are also coping with another major milestone of our lives. Our very own Arise and Build.

Shopping for electronics and furniture with this "big belly" was so draining yet fun and fulfilling. It's good thing that Derrick's meticulous and detailed personality helps to look out for any oversight as well as securing better deals. And my "chin chin cai cai" personality helps to quicken all those tiring process. hehehe.

6) Friends who make a difference in my life.

So many things happened in the last 2 years of my church life. I do wish I have gotten over it. But sometimes I still wishfully hope all those events never happened before. Both of us choose to stay faithful to church simply because we still trust the leadership and it's a way to show our gratefulness to the church who has transformed our life.

To be truthful, I still felt so aliened in the new zone after 2 good years of transferring. But I got to say Pastor Aries is one of the most dedicated, personal and sincere zone pastors around. (lol..derrick can do a good impersonation of him)....I often tell Derrick that I wish I have known him earlier.

As I'm typing this post, iTunes is also playing 周华健- 朋友. Despite all these, I am glad that God place good friends around me. Friends whom both of us grew up with. Friends who went through the same fight and stayed through. They are none other than the "Alumni Cg" or the so call "Perfect 10"
Thankful to every single one of you Audrey, Serena & Kenneth, Karen Chia & Keeliang, Karen Yeo & Daniel...... I don't know how life would be like without crazy friends like you guys!!

Looking forward to many good years to come.

I often questioned him

"What do you think you will be doing now if you did not end up marrying me?"

hahahaha.... all these questions simply pissed him off when I insisted an answer from him. 你可以不要再烦我吗!!

But I am really keen to know how life would be like without me.I am imagining that you will probably will be so bored at home doing nothing, going straight home after work without any exciting programs, spending your weekend in church and playing soccer only, eating alone at food court and taking mrt home all by yourself and You probably still single because I say so!!!

Hehehehe.. aren't you glad you found ME??

On the contrary.... I am glad I found you instead. That's what I imagine myself to be if I have never ever met you.

My 2011

It has reach a point in time when I sit back on my swirling chair thanking God of His goodness and also carefully reviewing my score card of 2011.

Arriving at the threshold of 2011, this journey that I took goes a long way back to 2nd half of 2009 where I starts to set my vision and directions in perspective. I recall that God spoke to me "the steps of the righteous are order by the Lord", and the order was "Career" > "House" > "Family planning". It was too premature to share with anyone except my wife. It was kind like 2 years plan from family planning to career development to spiritual achievement. I have set up 天罗地网to finally see the interim result. With...
a) New Home underway in Jan,
b) Big fat commi$$ion in Feb,
c) Hopeful upgrading of car in Apr
d) Promoted to rank of Father in May
I am looking forward to every new day!

As such, looking for a job is primary task. In 2011, leaving my current job is leaving your comfort/safe zone. Went for 4-5 interview, finally HSBC lady boss who interview me, likes me a lot and offer me a position. The position is consider a new set-up, everything was still unsettle. I trusted God instead of complaining, indeed God honor me for been positive. To cut the long-story short, I gave my best and ended 2011 with great record which translate into monies. I just want to say, God's way are higher than our ways... HE has rightly position me and show tremendous favor on me!

As I embark on my new career, I continue tirelessly searching on propertyguru.com to look for the right place call home. This 2years of search finally ended in Sep 2011 where we found a 130sqm, 10th floor corner unit. It matches our requirement of "Corner", "Big", "Balcony" and of course within the right price.
It was really hard to get a affordable house as we are out of the league for BTO & EC, out of reach for Private Condo, leaving us stranded with only resale market. The soaring COV+5% cash of selling price make home hunting a tall order for us. To cut the story short, we won the COV bid... Apply Loan from DBS, Sign paper, got the keys.... RENOV began. Thank God for everything, it was also the same period of CHC A&B. We did not compromise in our giving knowing that this is the similar test God set up for Abraham.

My baby is the next big thing. I am really apprehensive been promoted to father in May. Totally new and green. In the recent scan of fetus, the gender remains a mystery. I may really excited to name my child and see it sleep soundly. Unable to comment on fatherhood till I am one myself. Wonder how father instinct will make me respond? I always believe that child should be independent, have their childhood days, playing marble or skipping rope during recces. Wonder would I react like a "kiasu" father?

Aside to all personal-affair, I want to speak for general affair of Singapore.
Rising COE and transport cost, Soaring Property prices, Presidential controversy salary, influx of foreign talent. I never want to complain about all this because I feel that we are very fortunate, living in a forward-moving country. I do not want to take Singapore today for granted. Many are dying to live in Singapore.

Would you prefer to have 3rd world transport system? Have you ever complain about your own salary for been overwork and underpay? If you own 3 property, would you want expatriate to rent your units?

Have you been to HK where MTR also breakdown? Have you been to Sydney that a meal cost S$15? Have you been to Japan where the taxi flag down price is S$10?

If you were in that cabinet's position, would you have done the same or done even better? Given the opportunity are you able to put Singapore on the world's map?

I think the government has done so many things well that is worth highlighting, keeping SGD currency ever strong, one of the lowest taxation, seamless train transportation system planned 10yrs ago even before you got your humble bachelor degree, decision to build IR that create the skyline at Marina Bay. Moving forward many things planned and decided even before you realize it.

People who blame everyone except themselves carry a "victimize" mentality. Those who are above the equator have no qualms with Property nor rising COE. And they will continue to fight against the odds and emerge victorous. No offenses for those reading this and differ from my opinion, as I am not running for any elections to win voter.

Merry Christmas!!! Thank God for precious long holidays like this. I have realised my recent leave and holidays are all about shopping for electronics and furniture. I thought my colleague Yifang was crazy when she went around comparing hood and hob, washing machine and refrigerator. But when its my turn, I was guilty of it as well. It's a tiring job. But someone has to take the shit right? haha. No lah. I just dislike that feeling of missing a good buy. There's just lots of stuff to buy. It will be awesome if only every item I wanna buy cost me 5-10 bucks like those "masak". How I wish....

Gotten our Keys

After married for 2 year plus, we finally gotten our new house. Initially, the previous owner requested to stay for another month which we agreed, but thankfully, they informed us that they don't need another month and had moved a week before they hand over.

Hurray... that means renovation is starting soon. We have engage Space Concept to do up our place. It's the beginning of another exciting journey. Hopefully we can get this done before CNY... The first baby step was to follow our interior designer, Joanne to Balestier for tile choosing. Wow.... 看得我眼花摇乱。乱乱乱...

Yesterday after candle-light service, Derrick and I took our guitar and iPad and went up to our new home to pray up that place. We simply wanted to delicate that place to the Lord and thank him for giving us a home. Honestly, we felt a bit weird stepping into a completely vacant dusty house. As there were no furniture around, it was so echoy when we talk. Hmmm.... but the moment derrick pick up his guitar and praise God, we felt that tingling feeling left the room. We had a very good 30 mins of Prayer meeting. Thanking and praising him. Committing our ways to the Lord.....We prayed that our place will bring many joy and breakthroughs to whoever that step into it. Just like Obed-Edom's house !! hehe

We are coming to the end of the year. It's time to do some stocks take for 2011 happenings. I will be writing a year end post soon.

Could it be a Boy??

I am now taking a taxi back to office and I am thinking "could it be a boy?"

Because seem like 9 out of 10 people I met "predict/prophesy" that I am pregnant with a boy.

Even the website predictor predicted a boy...

Some say my nose very big- it's a boy
Some say I look very tired- it's a boy
Some say I have a difficult first trimester -it's a boy
The salesgirl say the way I look seem to be Peggy with boy

Is it true that all these symptom makes a boy???

Ah boy or ah girl doesn't really matter to me

I am just so curious find out if everybody is right

Just came home from db0, one of dbs company year end event....

Won 2 awards tonight for my performance in quarter 3... The challenger award and top Dbs protection campaign award... Best of all... $2500 taka voucher for my Xmas shopping!!

All the late night appointments finally pays off... But I know it must be Jesus who has been my source of help... The one whom I can always cling on and count on... Thank u Jesus... Glory to him=)

Entering into my second trimester. Hip hip Huarry!!!!

Feeling so much better, relax and energetic now. So happy that I am feeling so alive in the month of December.

I went for another recent scan (Oscar scan) and glad that baby thong is growing well.... moving and stretching as usual.

I am also at a stage where my tummy ain't obvious. The little bump looks like I have eaten to much. No Wonder, no one give up seat for me in the MRT. hehe....

Derrick and I have been shortlisting names for baby thong. But still can't confirm with any. Here are some names.

I found this photo while browsing my photo albums. It was kinda quite creative of him to come out with those ideas. Anyway, he did this for our second anniversary in July.

I have yet to use those vouchers. The only one that I've used was 30 mins Singapore Massage. To be frank, I did felt quite short-change after that. I quite like the "One objection overruled" and "1 Day Do not disturb"

Beside having appraisal from my boss in DBS, I had my yearly appraisal from my husband as well. How depressed huh... I gotta be always appraised, appeased others in life.

FUNNY. The letter from the "Board" read...

" Congratulation, you have been shortlist to receive $500 worth of cash and vouchers. You have been selected from the list of staffs (who are the staffs?? you mean there's others I don't know?) to be awarded with this Retention Program.

"3) Since our retention program started, as long as you fulfill 358 of no MC, meeting the Supervisory Ex-perience hours (SEX hours) and being obedient to the Board, you will receive dividend by the Board at its discretion."

Hi uncles and aunties.... I am Baby Thong!!! Daddy and mummy are still struggling to give me a nice name. So tentatively, I don't mind you calling me Baby Thong. Definitely not Thongdan!!! Mummy says Uncle Daniel is bad in giving names.

I am now coming to 11 weeks in my mummy's tummy. I am doing pretty well here. See how I move!!! I am gonna be a good swimmer. But mummy say she is having a hard time because of the evil morning sickness. Mummy!! It's not that bad... this is to tell you I am doing well. I hope she is feeling better because I am growing.

Mummy is so trilled watching my movement, she actually re-played the video like 50 times already?! Mummy and Daddy have also been praying for me to be healthy and I am receiving the prayers!!!

I should be seeing the world in May 2012.... Hopefully it doesn't clash with daddy's elder sister who is my "GuGu" wedding.

Went for our First appointment with HDB

So excited as we are approaching D day (getting the keys). We have been busy meeting up various Interior Designers. It can be quite a headache for me when it comes to choosing the "right" ID as we heard from our peers that your ID plays an extremely important role to ensure your house turn out exactly what you have discussed. We have shortlisted a few and hopefully with finger-crossed, things will turned out well.

Nothing much about the first appointment. Our second appointment will be 12th Dec 2011. Nice date huh... We will officially be proud owners of Blk116A. hehe....

I am quite excited about shopping for those furniture, electronics and etc.....

Keeliang and Karen's Big Day

Our good friends keeliang and karen finally tied the knot on the 23rd Oct 2011. Congrats to both of you. Not every wedding excites me like this couple does. I have the privilege to be one of the bride's entourages. Man!! I have been waiting for the longest time to sabo that Keeliang who is reaping what he sowed 2 years back during my wedding.

1 week before the actual day, the entourages had a fruitful and entertaining wedding discussions at Ken's place. Kudos to Kenneth, the wedding coordinator..... it was a beautiful planned wedding.

Both of them will be flying off to Aussie soon. Not gonna see them for the next 3 years. Wishing you blissful marriage and join in the baby club soon!!

Building our Love Nest finally.

Finally, we bought our first house.

The journey of searching for a home has been a long and tedious one.

We almost secured a place last year but due to the income ceiling cap, we were rejected by HDB. There goes our $1000 deposit and our option to own new HDB flat. Also, it was the start of our never ending appeals to the MP. Each time, we waited for hours to see the MP and he will cordially promise to do his best for us. We appeal thrice and three times we were rejected. I still cannot figure out why I am still a supporter of PAP?? ** confused**

Meet the people session

After many haggling with those... i wanted to say stupid MP, we decided to move on and go with bank loans and resale flat instead. We then started to face another challenge.... the Cash over valuation (COV) that most sellers were asking were horrendously high. I can't understand why those ugly renovated flats would be asking like $50K -$70K COV, just because it's near the MRT and it's located in the matured estate. Some of which were only asking for $20K, but it would be on the 2nd or 3rd floor which we were not willing to compromise for. Haiz.... 想到都生气.

It's indeed quite frustrating. But come to think about it, that's just part and parcel of life and I am glad we went through this together. Thank God, we finally found an executive apartment at Seng Kang. And as what we always prayed for. "Lord, give us a big place that is high floor, corner unit and Low Cash. I am so glad he answered our prayer. =) Happy!!!

Had a miscarriage 2 weeks ago

Doctor said there was no heart beat and fetus was not growing. =(

No choice but had to perform a D&C (Dilation and Curettage).

It has been an extremely emotionally tough weeks for both hubby and me. The sense of disappointment and discouragement were simply overwhelming. Accepting the truth was such a battle. ***argh*** Everyday (from the time I knew about it) had been a slow and torturing day for me. How demoralize can life gets ??!!

BUT it's also time to MOVE ON. I kept telling myself that my God is faithful and He is still in control. I can still trust him no matter what.

Whatever it is, my loving husband has always been that pillar of strength and comforting partner for me!!! Also, I thank God that He gave me a bunch of good friends who were constantly supportive. It was comforting to know that somebody is praying and fasting for your miracle. Thanks peeps!!

I think I am recovering well..... emotionally and physically. Even my boss said that I am very strong lady!! So thanks to everyone who know my condition and has been there for me.

Like what Pastor Phil preached. I will have a "BUT GOD" factor....

A shout-out to my readers out there....

I am PREGNANT.
Praise the Lord

A joy that I have contained for many weeks. I know it's a practice to keep it mum for at least 12 weeks. But I guess I am just a little too overjoyed about this good news. Please don't start congratulating me on Facebook. This news is purely for my faithful readers.

A new journey begins .....

I found out that I was preggy on the 2 Apr one day after I miss my period. To be honest, though I was afraid to be disappointed again, I was quite prepared this time to see a strong positive line in the pregnancy kit. I was so overwhelmed with joyed after seeing the lines that I can't go back to sleep after that which is around 5am and this continues for the next 2 days. ***Crazy***

Expect due date: 11 / 12 / 2011

Pay a visit to Dr Fong's clinic on the following Monday though my girlfriends advised me that it's gonna be a waste trip. Most of them said you won't be able to see anything at 4weeks. But I am just abit paranoid and to ease this curiosity, I went ahead to my first Gyne's visit.

True enough, can't see anything at all.
Dr Fong said that it's too early for me to worry. Come back again 2 weeks later for scan. By then, you MUST see the embryo in your uterus.

Reality struck....

After 1-2 weeks of feeling all normal like any other day. ***happy bunny***

Now.... I am feeling nausea and sick. Almost every other day.

Morning Sickness is a misnamed for sure. The sickness and nauseousness are all day long. It feels like you are recovering from a stomach flu yet feeling queasy. Oh ya...I love burping now due to my bloated tummy

Quoting from Baby Center.... "feeling sick is actually a good sign that your pregnancy hormone levels are high."

So I guess I will have to endure a normal pregnancy for at least 12-14 weeks. Pardon me when I look sick and tired.

I just hope this will pass real soon.

We just wanna Thank God for this divine pregnancy. It came just at the right time.

I had one of the best gathering for the whole year thus far. And the theme was "The good old days to me were..."

Those who attended this gathering were all my long time friends since Hollywood days. Except for a year old believer/new-comer, Victor who is Mayce's fiances. Keeliang had informed us earlier to bring something to the meeting that represent the good old days. And you will be as surprise as I did on those stuff everybody brought.

Look carefully what Siying (Zhanwei's fiances) brought. The blue busing schedule. Those were the days we have free busing services all over the island to bring you and your new friends to JW church. Remember???

A trip I spent least on shopping.... But spent mostly on activities

Coming home with a basket full of fond memories. Beautiful beaches... paranormic scenery.... nice hotel room .... friendly thai and "ang mohs"

Flew there by Silk Air... For the first time... we have someone waiting for us at the airport. Holding a piece of paper with Mr/Mrs Thong yaochang Derrick name on it.

Felt so privileged... Aiyoh... so palia

Pay a little bit more for the package and that save us so much hassel to get a cab... vrooom... heading to Cape Sienna lo.....

Wowww.... We were greeted with such breathtaking paranomic sea-view. That's just the reception

Day 1... Decided to just hang around Kamala Beach which is near our hotel instead of the infamous Patong beach... Kamala Beach is better known for honeymooner as it is quiet and not much of night life. Basically nothing much around this place
But we also realise that this beach is also where Tsunami strike... Along the beach, we saw monument for victims and sign board stating Tsunami danger zone. OMGosh

Seafood BBQ for our first meal in Phuket....

Day 2 - An eventful and tiring day. Part of the package includes a half day tour around Phuket island.

45mins of elephant trekking. It is damn hot.... but we felt so close to the nature.

Animal cruelty?? They would use this sharp "hook" to hit and peirce the elephant's ear when they become unstable. A few time, the elephant just wonder off and take his own sweet time to eat, pee and poo poo.... Once, I felt we will fall off from the hill cos this elephant was too engross eating at the edge of the hill. Anyway, we can find elephant dung everywhere. It was as big as the burned coconuts... and when they pee.... oops.. they dun pee... I think the flash out their urine. It simply flowing non stop. lol

Awesome scene. Taking a closer look... You see a huge nest on the top of the tree. The guide say that it's built by the hawk....

Time to feed the elephant. Derrick say that he has great sucking power.

At night... we book tickets to watch Simone Cabaret - Lady boy show... Derrick is so short standing beside her. Honestly, I am really keen to know how they looked like before this. They were all so beautiful and sexy. Though not all, some looked quite embarrassing as they are still in midst of transforming...standing at the right side of derrick is a very good example.hehe

Wah lao.... I looked so "cui" beside her. Pay a tip of 40Baht if you wanna a picture with them. Pay first if not... many of them will crowd around you and you have to pay all of them later.

Closer look...she has eyebrow that did not trim properly. It looks too bushy for lady. It was mad rush when I took a picture with her as their next show is starting... Expected but yet surprise to hear her spoke with a masculine rude voice...快点快点.....

Isn't it great to have a living room like this.

After an hour, we finally arrived at Pipi Island where Hollywood movie, The Beach was filmed.
The island was filled with ...... "Ang Mos''... mostly Russian and Scandinavians as their countries are winter now ...
Where's all the Asians??? Felt abit out of place honestly.... Then we realise we went Phuket during an unpopular season for Singaporeans and many Asians.

It's a good experience.... I like it

I guessed I would stop revealing my age soon....

How great is it to begin the 7th day of the year with such sweet celebration. It felt very much like anniversary than birthday.

Hubby had made so much effort to plan and put all this up. He actually booked a room at Conrad, the hotel we stayed when we got married and the whole day had been so relaxing. For once, I felt a little like a tourist coming to S'pore for holiday.

Had our lunch at Ice edge before checking in. A nice eat out place at Kovan, owned by my colleague's sibling.

Great view. All thanks to Derrick's cousin who works there as Duty Manager. We got a high floor with good view. simply enjoy the whole feeling of coming for a " local holiday"....

OMGosh.... I simply like the toilet....

2010 A Year Worth Remembering.

One more day and we will say good-de-bye to 2010. I am already looking forward to 2011.

Looking back, Derrick and I can't agree more that it has been a very interesting year for us. 365 days in a year had passed so fast yet it felt so slow as many events took place in these 12 months. Also, many transitions which position us for the better.

It's been almost a year I started my new career with DBS. I am extremely grateful to the Lord for placing me there. Financially, this year has been the most breakthrough year for me. Though it may be stressful, but I find fulfillment and satisfaction in what I am doing. More importantly, I kinda enjoy this career, not job (I confessed, definitely not all the time.... ) Oh, not forgetting all the incentivesss that makes my effort all worth while. I praise God for giving me a bunch of awesome colleagues whom anyone would pray for.

I thank God that He is always there whenever I faced overwhelming challenges. Being an easily stressed-up woman, the most comforting moment would be his faithful presence and this knowing that He reigns over every situations. He is definitely the rewarder of those who diligently seeks Him.

2010 is also the year hubby got enrolled into SOT for 6 months. I am pleasantly surprised when he first told me that he wanted to go SOT. My response was ... "HUH".... followed by "Orh.. Ok Loh" .... To me, apart from learning, it is really all about setting aside time for Him. Giving up what's comfortable all these while. Well, he might have more to share about his journey to the wild wild west everyday.

Oh yeah... how can I ever forget. We also celebrated our first anniversary in Universal Studio. Guess what, we are married for 1 year and 5 months and this song probably would describe best about us. "I am lucky I'm in love with my best friend. I am lucky to have been where I have been..." You probably can't imagine how hilarious both of us can be. Sometimes, we joked among ourselves and even others (unfortunately) so much so that we laughed our heads off to bed. Sometimes, we do silly things that purposefully "agitates" one another. Don't ask me, I don't know why we did that too.

I guessed I love him because I can always be myself when we are together.

In term of Ministry, ....................................................................................................... I decided to leave it blank for the moment till I find back that passion. Shamefully, it's lost somewhere and I need to find it back. Though my ministry has not been forth coming at all, but my walk with God has been growing as I find myself depending on Him more than ever. Though my ministry is ........... (blank), but I love the church even more as I see how everyone working hard to rebuild and to stay in tact what God has build.

My resolution for 2011 is clear. (I guessed)

Beside the usual stuff, like slimming down, save more money, read more books, learn cooking, go travel... blah blah blah.

2011 will be a

1) Baby making year.
2) Home constructing year
3) Career prospering year
4) Ministry rebuilding year (Finger-cross... I might need a lot of help on this)

Just pray after me.... "May the Lord grants the desires of their hearts"

Public Holiday gathering

A time well spent together with friends.

Friends you always feel so comfortable with. Friends whose joke never fails to make everybody laugh despite it's been repeated like 100 times

Well, we had steamboat together and the last time we did that was last year celebrating Justin's birthday. As usual, the woman cooks and the woman washes. The men did absolutely nothing except watching the DVD, blasting the sound system.

It's kinda relaxing and therapeutic cos I am quite stress up at work and such gatherings gave me some time off to let down my hair and think not about my work. After dinner, we spend sometime watching Ken + Serena and Karen + Daniel wedding highlight. Though we all watched before, but everyone still have a great time laughing over the gatecrash and dinner sabotage.

Anyway, thanks to karen and daniel who open up their house for this steamboat dinner. Gotta work tml again. hmmm... good night world

Hurray... We finally booked our tickets yesterday at a travel roadshow. Phuket Phuket here we come this Jan 2011. I know it's gonna be yet another relaxing holiday for us. I am all excited about it. I can't wait for Dec and Jan to come.

Will be staying in Cape Sienna Hotel & Villas. Looking at those pictures, I think it wouldn't be too bad a choice. Only concern would be the location. It's located at Kamala Beach which I don't know where is it. But from it's review, it seems to be quite far from Patong Beach.

Best of all.... Mr Thong Thong pay for our whole holiday. heh heh heh.

Also, looking forward to our gathering with the usual kakkis. Will be having steamboat together at Karen Yeo's place.

Hi blogging friends, I am back. Probably for a while (finger cross)

How I wish I can update about my life of the last 3 months in just one post but I'm just simply lazy.

Just a brief update

Career wise

It's been a fruitful 10 months in the bank, ever since the comm structure changes. PTL. I thank God for a bunch of fantastic and supportive colleagues and that's what I have been praying for. It's been a fun, stressful but a productive year. Hence, it explains my in-activeness in both blogging and Facebook. I am freaking tried most of the time. Learning curve is steeper but I am glad I've made that choice to switch from my comfort zone

Holidays

Went to Hong Kong in late September this year. It's indeed a well deserved rest for both of us. I am happy that I manage to burn a hole in our pocket (clap clap). I wish this trip can be extended. I really like the shopping, morning dim sum, service quality, ladies market, shenzhen, the peak and his company especially. Let me go back there!!!

Our AZII had also organized a 1 day trip to Malacca 2 weeks ago. It all started one day when Derrick, Keeliang, Karen Chia, Audrey and me were chilling out at Holland V, Hagan Daaz. For once we decided to do something constructive for the zone by organising a bonding session. Inspired by my trip with the RC (resident community) few month ago with mummy, I suggested a one day trip to Malacca. We got all excited about it and even went immediately to the tour agencies at China town to find out more details about the booking of buses. Everybody starts to chip in their effort, sourcing out venues for dinner, lunch, buses, route and the logistics etc. Derrick did most of the job. Thanks dear!! And indeed, it's turn out to be a very good bonding session with all the leaders. Derrick become our tour leader for the day which is not planned for at all. But he did extremely well! All is well except the return trip when the driver lost his way and we ended up travelling 5 hours to reach Singapore.

Hope our Phuket trip can come to pass huh!!

Woohoo... Just came home from a fun-filled time at Universal Studio... Really quite shack and tired after a whole day of walking and burning under the scorching sun. But I must say... we did really enjoy ourselves. For once we felt we are not in Singapore. haha.... Beside the weather, the experience at Universal Studio is awesome and colorful.

It's my first time traveling with dad to Malaysia. Seriously... it's his first trip after 20 years or more. Poor daddy. Nah... in fact, he disliked traveling. He hates shopping. The only reason he came with us was because we were going to Kukup to experience kampong fishing life. I had really one of the best time with them.

Enjoyed my Sunday Kukup trip thoroughly despite of the unbearable weather.

It's going through tough times like this we differentiate true friends from acquaintance. I bet you will agree with me that confidence and trust are not build overnight... it has to be build over the years and with a consistent good track record. Hence, we have more than enough reasons to believe and trust in our church and its senior leadership. I definitely disagree when others label us as "blind loyalty". To me, church is like a family. Probably I am quite simple minded. You just don't bite the hand who feeds you for the last 12 years.

I think it's too early to pass judgment. Some passed comments mindlessly with an idea of being open minds. What can I say??? You have your freedom of speech. I simply cannot comprehend how some people can turn their face against church when they themselves were once helped by the church when they are all helpless. Regardless what, I hold on a positive confession that the check will once and for all shuts the mouth of all the critics. Soon we will not only be ISO certify but CAD certify.

The strongest swords are forged in the hottest fires. I truly believe that what was meant for evil, He will turn it around for our good. I like what someone posted in facebook. When the shepherd is struck, the sheep scattered but in our CHC case, when our shepherd is struck, the sheep gathers even more. Let's stay united all the City Harvesters.

I don't know about you... but I get really pissed off when car is tailgating and purposefully "on" his stupid high beam to ask me change lane.

Anyway, do you know the speed limit at KPE??? For goodness sake, it 70km/h and I am driving at 80km/h with 3 other cars right in front. It's morning traffic and you can imagine every car can be quite slow moving.

Trust me friends, although I am a female driver, I am not a road hogger who hogs the road by driving very slowly. Yet road bully like him who probably having a tummy ache need me to change lane just because he high beam me for at least a min.

The usual me will be very amiable. I will change lane if it's at PIE or CTE where there are no speed limit. But what's the point I change lane for people like him where there's 3 other cars right in front of me? So I decided to keep driving. I was just thinking if I should just break my car and let him kiss the car bumper. Anyway.. I dun mind having a new bumper since there are already some scratches. Alright... forgive me... that's so carnal and bad. In that case... more people will be late for work and you will hear Class 95, FD and Glen Ong giving traffic updates that "accident at KPE toward ECP, at Sims Ave exits. Please avoid lane 1"

Haiz...having all said, I eventually gave way to him. Hmmm... sorry.. it's just a verbal diarrhea.

Just came home from Mothers' Day celebration

I went for a tour at our DBS Asia Treasures at Changi Airport transit yesterday. It's actually an exclusive lounge for high net worth customer with at least $1.5mil in their account. A first of its kind, DBS Asia Treasures at Changi is a by-invitation-ONLY banking experience at the transit areas of Changi Airport Terminal 2 and 3. A bunch of us went to experience the luxurious treatment of being a $1.5mil high net worth customer.haha...at one point.. I seriously thought I saw my sister in law's father in the lounge..I almost wanted to go forward to talk to him.. haha... but my logical mind stops me and tell me THS IS IMPOSSIBLE! Dun go and embarrass yourself! muahahaha

Oh anyway...Asia treasures customers can enjoy all the facilities including massage, manicure, pedicure, meals and etc for free!! hehe...

A Day to Remember.

Suntec City = City Harvest = Sun = City Harvester

Most of you would have know about the wonderful breaking news from Sunday Times headlines. "Church co-owns Suntec Singapore"

Very soon, by Mar 2011, city harvest church service will move into Suntec Singapore. Everybody in church/facebook were so excited when Pastor Kong announced the venue. It's indeed a prophecy that has came to pass.

Oh something that so divine was that the Suntec was also the place we held our wedding banquet. And now, my church owns that place there. Woohoo.. should get married later then my Holy Matrimony can be at Suntec too.. haha

It's also a time to Arise and Build. This is the best time as I know that when we build God a house, he will also build us a house. He never once short-change my life during the period of time.

Dear God, I confess that this is going to be a breakthrough year, a year of great abundance, a year where I will draw closer to you, a year of greater capacity and as well as a favorable year for both Derrick and me.

And this year Derrick has finally decided to enroll himself into SOT and get train for the next 6 months... I strongly believe that God is going to provide and supply all his need according to His riches in heaven. And God will surely honors us for making time for his kingdom. All the way my dear. It's better late than never!

A movie that I would like to recommend everyone to watch... it's not on screen anymore... but you can download it, buy their dvd like I did or something.... Go watch the movie "Hachiko"

It a heart-warming true story about this dog Hachi who found his master(Richard Gere- ever so handsome) at the railway station one day. This special friend would accompany his master to the train station every day and return each afternoon to greet him after work. Sadly, the master pass away and never returns to the station. But Hachi faithfully returns to the same spot at the station Every single day for the next 9 year to wait for his beloved masters. During his daily visits Hachi touches the lives of many who work near the town.

It's so heart-warming that I teared so many times though I am not a dog lover. I think I will love dog from now onwards. I am simply amazed by their faithfulness,love and loyalty towards the one he loves.

Woke up 9.30am this morning and went marketing with Derrick cos I am cooking Assam Curry Fish for lunch today. Woohoo...I had tried Killiney's Assam fish previously at my work place and like it very much so I decided to buy their pre-mixed chili paste from Killiney and DO-IT-MYSELF (DIM)

Look quite spicy right?? Not really... It's just nice. Presentation not so nice cos I can't wait to quickly stuff the fish into my stomach... So hungry by then.

Here's the ingredient (2 person serve)
Batang Fish
Assam Java (Tamarind) Paste
Lady fingers (2)
Brinjal (1 small-size)
Pineapple (1 slice-buy the sweet one)
Tomato (1)
Ginger
Ginger bud

I am still in the midst of training and hopefully I can start work in March. Got a chance to meet my boss and some of the colleagues on Thursday for Reunion Dinner at Jumbo. From the first impression, I supposed they are quite easy to get along with. Nice people, chatty, welcoming.... I got to really thank God for placing me in the Parkway Parade branch. Somehow, I like that place a lot and I think it's a place of great potential and development. Hope I can foster wonderful relationships over there. Help me Lord!

The thought of starting work really excites me but the thought of the challenges I am going to go through makes me feel that I should enjoy myself while I still can. haha....

She is such a lively and energetic old lady. I seldom or probably never met such a cutie pie who sells tissue paper like she does. She indeed made my day!! I would usually feel a lot for the old or disabled who approached me to buy tissue paper. It's hard to say no to them. I would usually buy from them cos a dollar doesn't mean a lot to me but it can mean a lot to them. Unlike the rest who often portray helpless, she is so jovial, humorous and engaging. Everyone was so entertained by her and ended up helping her with her tissue sales. Maybe she is another angel like the Philip in our church. I tried asking her if she is an angel..... she smiled at me. hmmmmm.... maybe I will see her in heaven?!! Ok.. that's flaky! Enjoy the short clip

I love Saturday

I'm loving Saturday like never before. I have never appreciate Sat like I appreciate it now. And you know the reason why. It's the only day that alarm clock is spared from being "hum-tam" (slam hard) by me for disrupting my beauty sleep. Sat is always a time of dating. We consistently went to Orchard for the past few week. And we concluded that we have very little family commitments and that's free us up to go out so often. Dunno if it's a good thing ?!

Wanna just recommend a place for nice Japanese food. Tampopo located at Liang Court. Wooo... we queued for almost 40 mins for a seat inside. But the food is really worth the waiting.

唐太 is cooking again!! Was inspired my cg member, Amanda who cooked a very superlicious western carrot soup and bake fish for her hubby, Jankees on Thurs. It smell so good on that day. Hence, I thought of doing the same soup for Derrick too.

Tadah... Not too bad!! I think I need to add Thyme or something to bring out the smell.

And I attempted to make "niong hiang" for the very first time. I thought it taste nice too, only that I put too much mince meat.

We had Popiah session for Cg on Thurs. It was from the famous Kway Guan Huat (Joo Chiat Original Popiah Skin)... Add: 95 Joo Chiat Road. Personally, it's the best popiah I've tasted thus far. We had fun time making our popiah.

I have accustom to my body clock to jump out of bed by 6.30am every morning. Ok la.... I lied!! I will still "nua" a bit until 6.45am before I really decide to brush my smelly teeth. You know what...15mins of "nua-ing" mean alot to me cos the extra 15mins will feels like another 40mins at 6.30am especially. Alright!! It's all craps!! It's not so easy for me cos of my previous lifestyle as a Financial Consultant. But I think I am slowly getting used to waking up early and breathing the morning air makes me feel so freshen up.

Anyway... while everybody around me are getting pregnant AGAIN!! On the contrary, I need to postphone my planning to further notice as I gotta be stable in my new job before I can do our B 记划. Maybe I will have a rabbit baby near end of 2011?? Just a disclaimer. Never take me seriously ... cos I always change my mind on this baby matter.

You can see it's a short post cos I am feeling sleepy now and still want to maintain my blog.... Yawn~~~~

Moving On.... Goodbye Prudential

It's with a mixed feeling as I type this post. I guess many would have know that I am leaving Prudential to join DBS Treasures. Tomorrow is gonna be my first day of work. I am really excited about this new job I am about to embark in.

Working in Prudential for more than 4 and a half year, I am feeling quite a bit about leaving such a wonderful environment. In case you didn't know... this is actually my first job after graduating from Poly. With no intention in joining any Insurance company.... I was being "convince" somehow by my boss Nicholas and Kong how, the recruitment manager during then.. actually I really don't know how I end up taking all the financial papers. M9 was a torture to me!! I think I am really young (21) during then and feel that it's no harm trying it out since I am still quite young. That's how I ended up being a Financial Consultant. I am glad I made this decision though!

Looking back, I must really thank God for bringing me into NGO. There are so many fond memories over the past few years.... In these 4 years, I felt I have been through quite alot. Both the good and the bad. But I must says God has place me here for a great purpose!! Many good things did happened in my life. And I knew that I grew and change alot over all these years. Transiting from a student to working adult was not an easy thing for me. To be honest I struggled a lot especially in my ministry. But I soon get in terms with working life and thing just got better!!

I would miss those days I can attend Boss's Monday devotion.. haha though I am not the faithful attendee but I never fail to get challenge by him and through his prayer and laying of hand. Alright... this is a long time ago story though.... I would miss those client builder where we get scrutinize for our production. Alright... another long time ago story. I would miss a Godly and sheltered environment. Even though I do not understands many things but I know he is a good boss!!

Nevertheless, goodbye to this sheltered and Godly environment..... I am looking forward to shine and excel in this New challenging environment.

Somehow feel that the blogging world is Stagnated!! :( No wonder it attracts "mosquito"...

Been married for 6 months.... how fast huh!!! Felt like it was only yesterday he proposed. yahhh as if!!

Not any special occasion!! We just decided to spend some quality time together. Went to Siglap for dinner at this super retro restaurant but the food was nothing fantastic. The blur block uncle calculated the bill wrongly... "gladly"... we paid lesser!! haha. We have no intention to cheat him... Believe me, we only realise it after we left. Derrick say "How come our meal so cheap huh?"

Nice?? I attempt to curl my hair before going out. And it's a Success!!! =) i took only 30 min to style with the help of ...................................

I think i bought it quite sometime ago from a pushcart store at Cineleisure. Cost only $49.90. Personally... I think this is easier to curl compared to the curler I bought from Best Denki. It burn my hair!!

We had our lunch at a Japanese Restaurant in Far East, then we do manicure at Iputa. I simply like their nail design.

Later, we proceed to China town for a 45 mins Leg massage.

In the evening, Derrick brought me go a Romantic places for dinner. Guess where??? It's Rochester Park. Indeed, the ambiance at One Rochester Park is fabulous!! Food is not as nice compared to Zen (where we plan to go initially). But you pay for the ambiance!!

The name of the dish appeared in the menu is so long and chim... dunno what what what what ball.... In short... it's beef meatball and lobster soup. This is nice!!

I bet you are like me !!! "Wah Piang... Si mi lai eh"..... This "fellow" is the guru of the gurusss in chemistry... A fellow whom you address with high honor and not trying to be rude... So who is this fellow???

He is none other than Dr Aloysius Soon 吃了!! hehe

He is our long time church friend/leader/ O level chemistry tutor who went New Zealand to pursue his Masters and then phD.... Dr Soon has been away for 5 years and finally back for a short period of time before he flies off to Korea to be a University Professor.

Let me ask you something. When you were really young, have you ever thought of being a Scientist, Astronaut or an Inventor when you grow up???? And yet, this childhood dream soon dwindles away as you were hit with some realities in life. And our childhood dream become so far and unattainable, something beyond what we think we can do!! But this fellow live out his dream and became a Scientist working in Germany!! This is inspiring !!

Oh anyway, why I kept calling him a fellow?? It not because I am trying to be rude or something. For all you know, this is a honorable title. It is like when a a student got himself a scholarship, we call him a "scholar"!! hence, when you are a very good researcher, you enter into a research fellowship and you are called a "fellow"...Anyway there are only 12 people in Singapore that attain this honorable title. Woohoo... we are really so proud to have him as our friend.

Some of us came together to have a dinner with him at Suntec City- 汤点王...Soup is nice and would recommend you to have a try!! We all concluded that we haven't change much... still as lame and funny when we get together. That's a good thing!! Audrey is behaving so sha**** anyway... she thought Aloysius will alway be hooked on Facebook when he is working in his lab or office... Diao!! Hello??

Anyway, we had a good fellowshipping time and we hope you can come back more often since Korea not as far compared to Germany. Maybe dun come back alone!! hahaha

It's a late post.

CK Leaders were awesomely refreshed after a 3 days 2 night retreat at Sunway Lagoon. I guess this retreat had made my 2009 memorable too. haha. I was quite hesitant when I knew that we are going Sunway for retreat initially... Always thought of going somewhere further, not Malaysia again. But Sunway is really not a bad choice after all.

- Mega Shopping Mall you can't finish walking....
- Cheap food, just eat all you want. Both of us went Waraku to have pasta and spend only 40 ringgit altogether. Manhattan, TGI Friday ... etc... they are all so cheap compared to Singapore.
- Delicious Breakfast buffet. Wide variety of food and it suits my taste bud.
- Theme Park big enough to make me feel really tired by walking around
- Great customer service. This really impresses me most. We are serve so well by their staff during the Thanksgiving Dinner.

Talking about Thanksgiving Dinner. I must says it's a great success!! Firstly, I am pleasantly surprise with the room the management provide for us. When we first walk into the hall, Serena, Derrick and I was like ... "woah.... so nice ah!!!" Grand hall, nice setting, nice stage, nice logo, dance floor, nice VIP table.... cool... I know it's gonna be an awesome night. hahahaha... But I think many of us could be a little under- dressed for the occasion. Indeed... some people came and ask me if they are under-dressed. Aiyah... but who cares...

I am really happy being given the chance to be the thanksgiving dinner organiser with some of the senior leaders like Evelyn,Jiaying, Derrick, Rio, Alvin together with Serena and Kenneth as the organiser for the whole trip. We had Robson, Guowei and Shenghong to help us up with the Media and Sound. I must say Robson is really a gem to the zone!! So creative and efficient. Anyway, it's been a long while since the senior leaders organise something together. I realised I can drama drama but I'm really not a good host. haha..To be a good host... you must really be high-spirited and have the ability to talk anything under the sun. Rio and Derrick did a great job hosting for various award. Rio got soooo High hosting... he look as if he was already drunk by the plain water. lolx....

We have Huijuan and Keeliang crown (literally) as the Romeo and Juliet of the year award and Andrea crown as mummy of the year by folding the most (4 and a half) diapers, Cleo won the golden mic award by singing her "wedding" song, You're still the one.... Tina emerge to be the winner of the Devil's wear Prada award by proving her efficiency in counting complicated attendance (assuming service 5 is anchoring svc, 1 count- Cg, 2count- svc, 3 count- BS....)

All of them walk away with very "Attractive" prize like vacuum cleaner, eco-friendly fan, notebook and washing machine. hahaha... this is wacky!!

We ended the day with Cheryl and Vincent (ahemmm) thanksgiving speech........ to Pastor and Dev. Presented the gift. Have a closing song - Thank God I found you. Popped the poppers, dirty the place, have a group photo and call it a day. Some of them went on to Ministry of Sound to continue their part II and Derrick and I got so tired, we zzzzz shortly after we bath.

I realized I have not been blogging for the longest time since this blog exist. hehe.. I'm back now !! Happy New Year to all you readers....

I started this brand new year attending my friend, Marcus' Wedding at Thompson Baptist Church located at Novena. What a good way to start your brand new year with someone whom you wanna spend eternity with. Congrats to you Marcus and Dorcas!!

Thank God I met Serena and Samantha after the wedding... honestly, I felt a little awkward sitting alone. Now I knew how my guest feel when they are stranger to everybody. ha ha

Looking back 2009, it's been both a blissful and challenging year for me. I think like what Pastor Kong says in many services. "It's been a challenging year for many people" I guess I'm part of the "many people" he was referring to. Shall not elaborate here.

Nevertheless, the best part of my life would also doubtlessly be the first 7 months of 2009. I actually miss those busy moments preparing for our wedding. I remembered doing so many things like:

Signing up facial package- Neighbourhood beautician can do a good job too.
Sourcing out for HM/Banquet venue- The initial stage. haha.. We had fun doing all the researching.
Searching for resale flat
Parent's meeting session @ Pearl River Palace. It felt weird cos they are just so unfamiliar to one another. Weather talk blah blah blah.....
Shopping at Ikea-falling in love with that place. I'm a friend of Ikea alright!!
Sourcing for video-grapher in JB- exciting!! They did a great job on our wedding day as well
Bridal package- Went to dunno how many bridal shop and finally settled with French bridal. The experience was fun too.
Studio/Outdoor photoshoot- going back to SGSS to get the school approval to use their premises. There's just lotsa sweet flash back memories.
Buying all the necessary stuff for wedding- Corsage, Bling bling high-heel, Cala lillies, sashes for hall deco, parents gift, wedding box
Confirming Caterer- Food tasting session at Neo Garden.
Buying furniture for bedroom/toilet at Balestier- learnt our lesson. Don't you commit too fast!!
Simple renovation- This is tiring due to the terrible weather and dirt all over the place. Dread cleaning up the place.
Collection ROM cert- It's H1N1 peak season!! hahaha.. High Alert!! Gotta recite some vows before you can collect the cert
Confirming Justice of the Peace - Find him at TPY where he conduct Meet the People session
Tailor-made our wedding band- haha. got a chance to wear a 8carets ring. Shiok!! And I love the band design. Cartel inspired leh!!
Manicure- Woooho beautiful... but this cost my pocket a big hole la. $168

Confirming Photographer- Reuben!! He did an awesome job.

All that we have done pays off well on the actual day. Thank God for all the friends and relatives who make it there for our Big Day

The list just goes on and on. During then, I've got so much things to anticipate. haha. Thank God for giving us a Car men!! I can't imagine doing all these stuff without this mean of transport. This Suzuki Swift has indeed serve us well. I guess the next time I will get so busy will probably be the day I prepare for motherhood. hahaha...

Saga- I am misunderstood

As Derrick is having his reservist for the next 3 weeks, I decided to move back to my parents place instead. But something funny happened during my moved back. As what I have posted previously on my TCM experience which cause many round "bruises" on my body...That day, I was without any make up, dragging my Luggage into a lift where I met my neighbour who stayed just next door. This old lady looked at me with much concern as I did not look very tidy on a Thursday morning. She hesitated a while before speaking. Then she gave me a fake smile and converse with me in Teochew.

Lady : What happen to you??? You moved back ah ??

She sound a little embarrassed when she asked that question... I knew from the way she speak, she must have thought that I had quarrels with my husband and I wanted to 回娘家. So immediately I clarified with her using my broken mix Teochew-Chinese.

Me : Ya ya... I moved back because my husband go reservist for 3 weeks so I come home to sleep.

She was nodding her head but not very convinced. She then pointed at my shoulder round "bruises" and asked

Lady : What is this.... how come like that!!!

By then, the lift already open... I quickly anyhow explained to her with my broken teochew..

Me: Orh... Chinese Doctor la...

She nod her head again and walked off...

Hope she really get it!!

My dad has been influencing me into listening Hokkien songs and I must says many of their songs are really so well wirtten. Touching and Meaningful. One of the songs I love is this one. I think it's really meaningful. Once, I saw so many aunties and uncles crowd around a small TV at Compass Point, so engross listening to this song. One day when both Derrick and I grow old... I will remember to sing this to him. Enjoy

Dad is going for a minor operation tml to remove the metal plate from his leg (from an accidental that took place in 2007).... Just pray that everything will goes smoothly and speedy recovery. Thank You Jesus for healing him.

(We Are) Are we happy people ?? =)

There are 365 days in a year, 52 weeks altogether... I wondered how many days out of these 365 days do we consider ourselves happy?? How to define happiness then?? Does achieving one goals makes us happy?? Or being able to be at the right place at the right time with the right people makes one happy?? Or simply being able to spend some quality time with your loves one makes you really happy??

Some time ago, we had a friend who came to our office, and delivered us a very good investment talk. He shared something which I totally agreed with. He said that everyone should know how to define what's enough, enough. If you tell yourself that making 30% profits will be enough to make you happy, then you can just happily sell your investment when your target is reached regardless how others speculate the potential to stay invested in the market. I guess this is why some people get their fingers burned in the stock market because they do not know what's enough, enough.

Problem with us is that we never feel that we have had enough. Once, we took a bus to work, we felt that we should get a car for convenience sake. After we got a car, we felt that it's engine was not strong enough and we pursuit a bigger car. There is nothing wrong with that. It's upward mobility!!! I would gladly change mine too if we have the ability to get a bigger one. My question is, do we feel happier because we own a bigger car or we tend to feel unhappy because our car is not big enough.

I was reading my sister's blog and her post dawn upon me the same question. Do I have more happy days or more fearful days. How can I have more happy days ahead in 2010?? I think I must know what's enough to make myself happy. By saying that, does not mean that I am going to live a mediocre life. But by saying that, I think I will become a happier person because I know what makes me happy and not kept running in a rat race not knowing where it's bringing me to.

Dun worry... I am not being emo. Once a while, I think it's therapeutic to write some of my thoughts down. My brother had kept a bottle filled with colourful beads at home. Each day he feels happy, he will deposit a bead into it. Maybe I can try this?? And I will be determine to fill this bottle up. What a good indicator!! haha

Have not been sleeping well recently. Can't sleep at night!!! because of that, I felt tired the next day and my body is aching which led to my headache now ... So today I went to do massage somewhere around my office area. I don't often do such massage but I guess this particular massage center offers free 刮砂 and 八刮 which sort of interest me a little. Have never done this before. Dunno if it would be painful?

Woohoo... I look like I have just been beaten up!! haha. Anyway... It feels like someone is pinching you real hard. But I like the feeling after a while. The 刮砂 suppose to help me detox and for good blood circulation and the 八刮 suppose to help me relief all the pain and gives me a good rest tonight. haha.. Let's see how!! But I think I will try this more often if I ever visit them again

Anyway, while doing massage, I overheard a man conversation on the next curtain.

Shirley (one of my ex cg member) is finally back from Australia... but only for a while before she flies back to Jakarta. Shenghong and I had to rush down from leaders' meeting to catch up with her for supper before she leaves on Fri. It's been 3 years since she left... and I must say she has grown prettier and fairer. Of course, like many other Indo girls..... LV and Gucci eventually becomes part of their favorite collections. Anyway... it was a great time of fellowshipping together.

hey I'm back cooking again. 3 dish 1 soup.

1) Chilli onion prawn and sotong
this is really nice. My dad taught me to stir fry the prawn unitl it's 80% golden brown before you fry it with onion and the sauce. It adds crispiness to the prawn.

2) Egg plant with black sauce bean
Haiz... it's a failure. The eggplant is a little hard to chew. It's Karen's specialty. Tried calling Karen yeo to seek her advice, but she never pick up my call. So it still taste nicer eating her's.

3) Stir fry mince meat
This is nice!! able to retain it's juiciness and not too dry!! It's so simple to cook this. Anyway... it's inspired from 家香面. Their mince meat is awesome!

4) Tofu soup

Praise the LORD!!! I passed my driving test today. I finally joining the motoring society!! Thanks for those who prayed for me!! I am just overwhelmed with joy!! Yeah! I thought I would fail again because I strike kerb during vertical parking. But I dunno why, by the grace of God, I manage to pass it!! I was quite worried the whole of yesterday!! But Thank God I made it.

I just came back from my appointment and would like to share my thoughts with you. I have just met my client who was also my bible school friend for some insurance review. She looked like she had lost so much weight from the previous time I met her up. I thought she shave her hair because of some cancer charity event. But I was too naive and positive!!! She had just went through some chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Later she revealed that she actually suffered from 2nd stage breast cancer. I was so shocked to hear that cos she is only in her late 30s. I tried not to look shock and continued our conversation.

Anyway, she only did a CPF investment with me during then as she had many other coverage with other companies, that's why I was not informed about her situation. Thank God, the operation went on smoothly and she also had an insurance pay out of $100,000. She shared with me how she went through her treatments and all the side effect she experienced like vomiting, insomnia and etc etc. She teared when she told me how her uneducated mum pass her a shower cap to put on before she go through all the radiation from the radiotherapy. It's definitely a hell time!!! But through out the conversation, she appeared strong and relax. Probably, her only strength comes from God and God alone!! Despite of all her suffering, she kept on telling me that God is still good to her!!! It really makes me feel like crying!!

In any case, because of the pay out and her medical insurance reimbursement, she manage to undergo the best chemo and medical treatment. She stayed in the best class ward and had personal attention from the doctor and nurses. I then learned that you can volunteered yourself to be a "guinea pigs" patient and undergo cheap chemo treatment. Per treatment is only $2000. Comparing to an expensive one will cost about $6000 and above. I think the last thing you want to worry is about your medical bills, when you are fighting against diseases in your body. She then thank God that she never terminated her term plan with that particular company. Thank God she didn't!!

Sometimes, for some reasons I met client who terminate their policy pre-maturely as they thought that there are more important financial commitment out there than committing to a policy. I know of people who terminates their policy because they wanted to buy a car!! Hmmmm... maybe this story would let them know the importance of insurance. I always tell my client that Insurance is always "JUST IN CASE", just in case you need it. We don't buy toilet roll only when we have a stomached right?? You will always have standby.

Pray that she will get well soon and be as cheerful as before~~

Have you heard about their advertisement on the radio station?? After hearing from the radio station, our stomach was getting really hungry, hence despite of the rain, we decided to drove down to 340 Joo Chiat Rd for Claypot dinner.

So what's the review??? Hmmmm.... It tasted normal!!! I reckon nice food don't really need alot of TV/radio advertisement.

Generally, their food tasted nice. But not to the extend that I will go there on purpose again.
Service quality - Average
1) When we were there, we thought it would full house since it's a Friday. But the restaurant was rather empty that day.
2) Derrick order mince meat salted fished claypot, but they served the wrong clay pot to him.
3) Hence, he waited for another 20 more mins before they served the right claypot to him. By then, I'm almost done with my food
4) We were thirsty, and ordered a can of Green Tea. This stressed up waitress immediately went to the counter to get ready some ice cube for us. But for some reason, she never serve us the drinks but she end up talking to somebody else.
5) Adding to another bad impression, there were people quarreling and banging tables right at the end of the tables. It was so disturbing

We were invited to Karen's place for dinner on Wed!!! Thanks to her wonderful cooking!! I guess I have probably put on some kilos after that heavy meal that day. Indeed ... He who finds a good wife finds a good thing. She must have put in so much effort preparing in the morning.

Well well well... we ended our day by playing "Who's the boss". We had some new player like Jesslin, Velle and Evelyn. This game triggles our emotion and anger easily. It is those games where you will do whatever it takes to clinch the deals and if you don't get the deal, you will also not allow others to clinch as well. Derrick end up scolding me 搔包 when I kick him out from the deal.. A game where there no husband and wife, no sister or brother, no manager or consultant.... muahahaha... anyway.. it's just another game!!!! We had 2 tiring rounds and went home around 1130pm!!!

My First Baking Class

Together with Jonana Tan and Karen Yeo.... We had our very first baking class together.... We were taught how to make chocolate almond oatmeal cookies , Chocolate Black Current cake and Cheese and Nuts cookies. Wohoo.. The process of baking was very fun.... Initially, I thought the class will be fill with many aunties but that's not true .... There's actually quite a no of young ppl learning as well. I felt like I am back to school again, having my home econ lesson!!

Don't Stop!! Keep Running

I finally made up my mind to start jogging....
We've been married for 3 months and I felt I have put on some weight since then. I tried doing 200 sits-up daily...almost daily... but to no avail. I am kinda discourage!!
During my wedding preparation, I actually abstained myself from having too much carbo. Hence, I tried not to take rice as much as possible. But now that I'm married... I am not sure if I would still want to continued such dieting method.

I am blogging now because I want to compliment my hubby for running together with me... I am such a slow tortoise.... But he ran along with this tortoise and kept cheering me on...

Derrick : Don't stop ..... Mind over body.... You can do it... Common... Don't think about the distance. Just keep running. Go go go.. We are reaching

I wanted to reply him... But I really have no strength to do so. I kept running cos I knew that once I stop, I would not have the momentum and stamina to run again. In my heart, I was thinking that Derrick is really powerful men!! I am trying so hard to grasp for air yet he even have the strength to encourage to me... For that.... you have won my heart over again!!

On last Sat... few of us together with my cell members, we went to JB again!! Yes ... again... to "celebrate Keeliang's birthday".....Perhaps we are getting bored celebrating in our small little developed city. It will be awesome if Singapore shopping malls can close after midnight or our country can have more recreational place to hang out!! Anyway, it was quite an enjoyable trip.. There's only 3 reason I go JB ... 1) Thai massage 2) DVD 3) Seafood.....

Of cuz we can't compare the price in Thailand .. 200 Baht for 1 hr massage...But this Thai massage is one of the best I know outside of Thailand. Look for Teep when you're there... She is damn good!!

Hey... we just came back from Ritz Carlton !! Guess what we doing there.. hehe... we are there to witness ZhiHong's proposal to Samantha... It's indeed a touching moment with a funny element .... He was so nervous that he kept brushing Sam's hair telling her that he promised to be good to her , promised to take care of her and promise dunno what else ..... hahahaha.... You gotta be there to find it really funny!!! Oh.... sam definitely was caught by surprised and I think that's the most candid moment you can find in any lady's facial expression.... Thinking back, the time I know Sam was when she was only 15 years old and studying in Peirce Sec playing basketball. It's really a joy and privileged witnessing such event. Derrick and I were really happy for them... Congrats to you!!

Like I say.... I'm a Very good wife (must emphasize again)... cos I cook for him..lol... I am also a "chinese nurse" by training (trained by my father). I decided to use my family 祖传密方....

Let me tell you... this green grass oil is very effective to heal wounds..... If you apply it for few days.... What takes 1 month to heal will only take 1 week.... Very painful!!! but very effective... It's only a few bucks...

After applying this... Derrick scream a little... and he never say Thank You!! But instead He say that I abused him!!! What de...............................

Mingli & Jeff Wedding (A Classy Wedding)

Just came back from Mingli and Jeff's Wedding Party held at Fullerton Hotel. So happy for them!! Mingli's gown is so elegance. This wedding was quite different or I should say it's unique from the weddings we usually attend. Simple yet Non-conventional!! In fact, it's my first time attending this type of wedding. It's so classy!! Instead of "Yum-senging", we say "Cheers"... hmmm.. this is classy to me... Everything is classy ... the ambiance, the long table sitting arrangement, the music, the montage, the cake, etc....

This was also my first time attending my friends wedding as a married woman. Too bad, Derrick couldn't make it there. haha...The wedding today reminds me of our wedding, how we love to pick up wedding ideas here and there so that we can put up a great wedding together. Now that's I am married, I found myself picking up many good ideas for wedding. I know it's kinda pointless now, but maybe I can contribute to other peoples' wedding if I ever had a chance to. hehehe... anyway.. back to the wedding... it's also a good time meeting some old time friends as usual... haha... While our Malay friends were celebrating their festive season on Monday.... I decided to cook a meal and invite our friends .... Nur Karen and Ahmad Daniel to our place for dinner as well. So tadah!! This was my creation with some help from Karen.....

1) Old cucumber soup
2) Drunken Prawn
3) Bake bean with luncheon meat
4) Baby Kai lan with pork rib
5) Century Egg Steam with normal egg (Karen did this)

The soup was awesome!! Even my MIL and Sister in law says it's tasty... All thanks to my mum's secret recipe....

We've married for 2 months.. and this is what we have been doing.....

This is so funny... since yesterday, Derrick's ego was tremendously fed by me as I gave him a very shock ("kua zhang") and impressed expression. He really enjoys seeing that expression on my face to an extend that he requested me to test him again ...
So I did.... And like yesterday... I am like " Oh man... I really couldn't believe it"

Do you know which verse says

You know what... He could answer all and many other verse not mention here.... OH man... I am like so shock!! Of course, there are some verses he is still unfamiliar with.. but for most power verses, he can remember even the sequence of the story...

So we proceed further... He said:

D: Why not you test me on the verses... I see if I can know what verse is it.

R (trying to be cheeky) : Galatians 7:3

D: You trying to be funny is it... Galatians only have 6 chapters la...

R: hahaha... yayaya.... ok serious one ....how about 1 Peter 5:16 (I am really seriously serious)

D: ?????????????????? .... eh.... I don't know leh

R: What!?? you don't know this verse... Wahpiang... this verse very famous leh... how come you don't know.... Make a guess la....

D: I really don't know...

R: I give you multiple choice... 1) Draw near to me and I will draw near to you. OR 2) The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much...

D : EHHHH!! Please la... YOU READ THE WRONG VERSE ALREADY!! it should be James 5:16 .

R: ...................................

lol... haha... I guess I am too tired... even read also can read wrongly!! cos the book of 1Peter is after James. And he corrected me on the spot with the right verse.. (pai seh)

KTV session with my cousins

I just went on a KTV session with some of my dear cousins.... it's been donkey years since we last went out together. Most of the time, we only met up during CNY or met up in some relative's wedding. Glad that we can gathered up again for session like this!! Fun!!

Something interesting. I was reading my bible before I sleep yesterday. Derrick was half asleep on the bed when I thought of testing his memory in the bible. (Word Power)

RX: Hey derrick... which verse say... "Yet in all these thing we are more than conquerors thru Him who love us"??

D (answer instantly with no reservation): Romans 8 verse 37

RX: wah.. not bad ah... sleep also so alert.... impressive!! "So faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God." Which verse??

D : So easy.... Romans 10:17..... Please la.. give me more difficult one can

RX: "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long suffering, kindness ... blah blah blah...." which verse??

D: Wah Lau... Galatian 5:22-23

RX (blown away & jokingly) : Wah .. you really no need to go bible school hor... "Let nothing be done through selfish ambition.. blah blah blah..." which verse??

D (instantly) : Philippian 2 :3

RX: Then where is the verse "Draw near to me and He will draw near to you....."

D: It's James 4:8

R: "Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him....."

D: is it 1 John 3 : 9

And the test just goes on and on.. And instead of reading my bible ... I ended up feeding his ego. But seriously, I am really impressed.... He could memorise the bible just like that... No need to think twice... can just blurt out instantly when I question him.... Of course, those verse are those famous verse la.. but how many people can even memorise all the famous verses so instantly with no second thoughts?? So the challenge ended when he said... can you give me something really chim one....

R: okay... "Now it came to pass in the third year of Hoshea the son of Elah, king of Israel, that Hazekiah the son of Ahaz, king of Judah began to reign" Which verse??

D: "zai zai" you will ask stupid question... Arghh... sleep la, sleep la...

R: Cher.... tml I am gonna blog about it and tell everybody that you no need to go bible school... Can ask Pastor bobby invite you to teach in bible school instead!! lol

D: Wah Lau... You better dun, I tell you!!

Adventurous Cycling

Adventurous Cycling

Went for a 5 hours cycling on last Friday with Daniel and Karen.... My whole body is still aching till now. Haven't really been exercising except doing some sit-up at home! lol.... But it was so adventurous cos we cycled from ECP --> Esplanade (Makan Sultra) ---> ECP ---> Tanah Merah.... We had some pit stop at Mac for toilet break.

Karen being an road adverse cyclist felt that it was scary and dangerous to cycle across the road and construction site. But I personally enjoyed very much as we are can experience the city night life and nice building around. Later, she concluded that she is a park cyclist and not a road cyclist....haha!! so funny

Overall, it's fulfilling and we thank God that we manage to finish cycling before that heavy downpour at 3 midnight. Shall make effort to do more exercise.

I was impressed by him!! It wasn't an ad-hoc videoing, but he planned how he want to do the video and shoot the angle carefully!
